I'm leaving my current employment to start a new job. Ideally I know I should perform a completely new install of OS X on my machine but time prohibits this from happening. There is a lot of software that would take time to re-install and re-configure.
I was wondering if I created a new account called "new" and gave it admin privileges, could I then log into that account (logging out of the "old" account) and remove the "old" account? Thus making "new" the only account on the machine and it then becoming the Admin account with all the same privileges as the "old" one.
If this is possible would there be any repercussions I should be aware of?
Would the applications still remain usable, seeing as they do not reside in within the home folder? (I'm not worried about preferences by the way).
Thank you to anyone who can provide an answer.
