I am running MacOS 10.4.3 on an iMac G5. Some time ago, without any apparent reason, I couldn't login to my smb share anymore which is on a Linux system. There were no modifications done to either the Mac or the Linux machine in that time.
When I try to mount the SMB filesystem, I get:
I also tried to set "encrypt passwords = no" in smb.conf but that din't help either.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because this is driving me nuts.
When I try to mount the SMB filesystem, I get:
The console displays:The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://tom@10.0.0.3/transfer" could not be read or written. (Error code: -36).
I tried clearing all related items in my Keychain. Restarted both the Mac and the Linux system, but that didn't change anything. When I manually try to list the shares on the system using `smbclient -L 10.0.0.3` the shares are listed correctly./mach is not a regular file
mount_smbfs: /sbin/kextload command failed, exit status 1: Operation not permitted
mount_smbfs: SMB filesystem is not available
I also tried to set "encrypt passwords = no" in smb.conf but that din't help either.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because this is driving me nuts.
