Can someone explain the SMB syntax (window networking) please?

I'm sure this is a pretty basic question, but I can't find an answer anywhere.

I'm really struggling to understand the URL syntax for connecting to a windows sharepoint.

Here's what I have:

PC Name: COMPUTER
shared folder: shared
Username: myname
Password: mypassword

So, what, exactly, do I type in the CONNECT TO SERVER dialogue?

I've been using:

smb://myname@COMPUTER/shared

Is that correct?

That then brings the log-in window. What do I type in for the WORKGROUP?

smb://computer_name/share_name/

Enter.

Then I think you also need to put the "WORKGROUP" in (I don't have my powerbook with me at the moment to look.)

also enter your Login and Password
