can websites startup on mac osx sartup

hi...i just got my mac a few days ago and i alredy hate microsoft now :)...
BUT i have a question....is it possible to make a bookmark called 'news' like i have made which contains cnn bbc and other news sites, and have the mac to open this bookmark folder on mac osx startup...not on firefox startup but when the mac starts....so that i can just turn it on...go get a cup of coffee and when i get back it has all the morning news ready for me. hmmm sorry for my english but this is the best way i can explain my problem :D

RSS is what you are reffering to and i think Safari is good at getting RSS feeds.
There a lot of feeds already in Safari such as a lot of news sites. If you look at the top menu in Safari where it says Bookmarks, select Show BookMarks. Go through all that and find the ones that say RSS and the ones that interest you drag them to the side bar icon that says BookMark bar, then each one will have a new article count. Tip: inside the icon Bookmark bar, add a folder called RSS or something, then drag the new files into it.

To get a feed or even a web page to Load when Safari opens, select the feed you want the most, copy the URL, go into preferences in Safari, paste the link into the hompage text box. But to let ya know, those feeds will be loaded before you even walk away from your computer to put the kettle on :)

well thak you for the reply but im sorry but that wasn't really what i was looking for....i'm using firefox.....i just want firefox to open 4 websites when i turn the computer on...like i have skype and msn to startup when i turn on the computer :)
 
You can easily make files of URLs that, when opened, will launch that URL in your default browser (Firefox, I guess). In Firefox, just open the page, and drag the little icon next to the URL to your desktop (or better yet, some folder where it won't be in your way).

Once you have these files, you can set them to automatically open when you start up by going to Apple menu > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items.

The only problem is that when you open many of these files at once, Firefox opens them all in separate windows instead of separate tabs. I don't know, maybe that's what you want, or maybe there's an extension available for Firefox that will change that behavior.
 
yes exactly...thank you very much...maybe i can set it to open a folder with severel bokmarks...don't now...ill try...thanks :D
 
First, open Safari and find whatever bookmarks or RSS feeds you need.

Then, go to System Preferences and open "Login Items" (which is typically on the "Accounts" preference pane).

Drag any bookmarks into this list and they'll open at startup.
