My mum has an iBook and recently bought the Cannon 400D. When the camera is shot in RAW format, it names the files (.CR2). When attempting to open the images in Photoshop a dialogue box stated, "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document". I tried to open them on my Power Book and they worked fine.
Now, prior to the 400D, my mum owned the slightly older Cannon 300D. This camera names RAW files (.CRW) and works on both mine AND my mum's laptop. I thought it important to note that we own the same version of Photoshop but still, only mine opens both of these RAW formats.
The only conclusion that I came to was perhaps MY computer/Photoshop has previously checked for, and updated some required files automatically and my mum's computer/Photoshop hasn't.
Any wisdom on this would be greatly appreciated.
