Cannot access gmail.com on WEP wifi

I have a macbook pro running Lion OSX with all the latest updates.

In most cases I can access gmail through the different wifi spots I use. But there is one Where i cannot access.

After looking at the different wifi spots i see all the others are WPA Personal and WPA2 Personal, and they work fine.

The one which is not working is a WEP. It is strange that I can access yahoo and facebook, but not much else beyond that.

I saw in some other suggestions deleting the keychain would help. Unfortunately these have not helped for me. running lion recovery is not an option for me right now as the the only Wifi fast enough and where I am not capped is this WEP wifi spot :(.

I have deleted the network and then signed in again, but still to no avail. It is really hampering my productivity in my work :(

That is strange. On this affected network is it a Home or business wireless network? Do the operators of that network have a block against Google GMail? Do other devices on that network get GMail?

Does that happen in all locations where they use WEP? Like home, work, wireless networks, internet cafes etc?

In some workplaces it's common to block all non-work email access, which would explain not being able to get your gmail emails. You mentioned accessing yahoo - is that set up in your mail client, or are you using webmail for that? Are you using gmail via a mail app or as webmail?
Also some (fast) internet providers may sometimes restrict email access, but that would usually be with mail clients.

Is there anything interesting in the logs while you try to access it? Any error message, timout message etc?
