Cannot Download Widgets

For some reason I cannot download widgets or any other programs (AIM, adobe acrobat reader, etc). When I try to download a widget, my download manager pops up and says the name of the widget.zip(MacNify.wdgt.zip) and under it says that it cannot create file.
 
In Safari's preferences, make sure that the directory to which downloaded files are going is one that you are the owner of. The default is the Desktop folder in your user. Also, you might run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions if you haven't tried that.

Have you ever had a download manager installed like Speed Download?
