cannot maneuver cursor on MacBook pro, probably hacked?

was using my laptop today when the cursor suddenly stopped moving. I left it alone for a while and saw that pretty soon the cursor began moving by itself, albeit jaggedly. thanks to the problem, I cannot use my computer as I cannot get the cursor to go where I'd like it to. This has never happened before, so I'm wondering if it's been hacked ( discovered my firewall was off today as well). Any suggestions as to how to fix the problem and what the cause of the problem is?

Probably not hacked, but maybe a malfunctioning trackpad? Do you have "Screen Sharing" enabled? "Back to my Mac" enabled?

Are you in an area of very low humidity? Sometimes in exceptionally dry climates, the trackpad will build up static electricity and act erratically. A temporary fix is to place your entire palm on the trackpad, touching as much surface area as possible, then removing your hand.

If the problem persists and is consistent, I would take the laptop to the nearest Apple Authorized Service Center and have them take a look at it.
