My iBook use OS X final official release. It is connected to an AsantéTalk box that provides a link from my iBook to the old Appletalk net.

If I can therefore print on my old Texas Microwriter, I can't see any old macintosh on the net.

According to Asanté, OS X doesn't provide AFP (Apple File Protocol).

Is it true? Have you tried and succeeded ?

Thanks.

I had to give my imac an ip address and then it could see my powerbook running osx and pb could see imac.

I'm printing fine to hp laserjet. I'm not sure if it's appletalk or lp but it's going through an asanet box to convert to ethernet rj45 network with a hub.
