was working on the PHP mySQL setup (way too early in the
morning) and created the mysql user , gave it a password
went to sleep and forgot the password.
well, having had prevoius experience with a couple of flavors of
unix, thought NO PROBLEM. logged in as admin and opened
preferences and went to change the users pass. no dice. never
logged in as mysql and there is no keychain for the prefs to mod.
SO no biggie. i'll terminal and su - then su mysql. typed passwd
and get permission denied. assuming this is the keychain again.
i SUPPOSE i could delete the SQL user and re-create it, but with
mySQL being owned by user mysql , i am concerned about the
consequences.
is there a way to recover the lost password, or perhaps change
it?
