Hi.. I need help!!
I want to install the Mac Os 10.5 software to my Mac OS X 10.4.11.
when i put the CD, is asking me to change an option to "GUID partition table"
I do it and close the Disk Utility options, but when I enter again it changes back and it's not letting me install it.
Is there something else I need or can do?
the main reason to upgrade my software is because I just bought an IPad and it doesn't let me sync it to my computer as I need Mac OSX 10.5 or newer.
any help will be great.. thanks!

Which Mac do you have? iMac, MacBook, iBook, Powerbook, G4..?
Are the install discs you are using black or gray in color?

I have a MacBook...
and sorry, I think I made a mistake, the software I want to install is the "Mac OS X Snow Leopard" (version 10.6)
the DVD cover is white and with a Leopard on it

Are you doing an upgrade install or erase and install. If you are planning on repartitioning the drive, the data will be gone.

Yes... It actually says that if I change that I will lose data. And I already copied everything into a external hard disk. So I'm not worried, I just want to use my IPad

Boot from the Install CD straight and right before install Use the Disk Utility the disk provides to reinstall on the 10.6 disk. Just put the disk in and close the automatic upgrade pop-up. Follow this blog post on how to do a clean install. Then just use /Applications/Utilities/Migration Assistant to import your files/music/etc. Then consult the blog post Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatibility table to see if all your programs will run on 10.6. A lot of programs had to be updated for 10.6 so make sure you have all those programs updated for Snow Leopard.
