I have install 10.1 into a UNIX partition without choose install BSD subsystem. After installing it and reboot, the system can't be load. system folder is not found. when I reinstall 10.1 to HFS+, hopefully can choose startup for unix and then delete the HFS+ one. Still, the chooser can't locate the startup system. The whole installation don't have any problem.

OS 9.2.2
PowerMac G4, 1GB RAM and 20GB HDD

Do you mean you installed it on a UFS partition? If so, I think the BSD subsystem is required for proper functioning.

I tried it later with BSD subsystem, but still it didn't work.

Before I never found this problem.

the procedure is when boot up from CDROM, and under installer, choose using harddisk utilities to format it to UFS.

when in X10, it is ok. but in X10.1, I can't. I have tried a lot. I don't want to damage my computer
