cant delete a file

i downloaded a .sit file and now i cannot delete it. i made sure it wasnt locked or anything. and i tried holding numerous combinations of keys and still it wont go... please help me

One would be to go download a traching application which would ask you for your administrative password.
Force Delete 1.2

Two, reboot in OS 9 (if you still have it installed) and delete it through there.

Three, log in as root, but remember, this can be dangerous and if you don't know what you are doing, DON'T DO IT!

Try the first idea out, the software is freeware so you don't have to worry about money, and I know it works since i have used it on several occasions.

thanks for the help but right after i made the post i realized i hadnt tried os9 yet.. so i went into 9 and all was well

The Terminal command "rm" is the UNIX remove command... type sudo rm + a space into Terminal, drag the file to the window, and push enter... enter your password and you should be done.
