Everytime I try to delete my Palm TX softare, Localized.rsrc, I get a 'cannot be completed because the item is in use"

I tried using some sudo rm -rf code, and it get this error: rmdir: /Users/Josh/.Trash/Palm Desktop 16-41-01/: Directory not empty Any suggestions on what to try next?

Thanks,

Josh

Use 'Process Viewer' ('Jaguar', MacOS X 10.2.x) or 'Activity Monitor' ('Panther' MacOS X 10.3.x or 'Tiger' MacOS X 10.4.x) ('/Applications/Utilities/' folder) to force quit the 'item in use'.

Just today I was at a residence where it was desired to trash the current copy of (a problematic) 'Palm' installation, so as to re-install a new (virgin) copy. The (actual) problem was - at boot up or reboot (restart), where an alert box or boxes would appear about a 'HotSync' and / or 'Transport Manager' loading failure.

In the process of (attempting) to trash the above mentioned items, what do you think appeared? ... an alert box stating - 'Localized.rsrc ... cannot be completed because the item is in use'.

How did I delete the items? I launched 'Terminal' entered ...

sudo bash

..., pressed the <return> key twice (some persons may have to enter a password between the two <return> key presses, then entered ...

rm -rf

..., dragged the contents of the 'trash can's window onto the 'Terminal' window, and finally pressed the <return> key. That was all that was needed to completely delete the unwanted items..

The new 'Palm' software installation proceeded just fine.

Can you explain to ne exactly what you did step by step? I followed barhar's instructions but it didn't work.
