Can't eject CD ocne iPod plugged (iMac TFT)

I've had this problem for a while, and it's really starting to peeve me.

If I plug in my iPod I can't open the CD tray any more if there's a CD there beforehand. It does unmount the CD, which then reappears once I log back in. I've tried using the iTunes eject button as well as the keyboard.

Did anyone else have this problem? Did anyone find a solution besides restarting? Specs below.
