cant insert cd into drive

im totally befuddled.my powerbook 12" has nothing in the drive and yet for some reason it will no longer accept a cd into the drive.it usually pulls it in but now it will not.

feeling stupid.any help?

sounds like you need a new drive. how old is it?

its 2-3 years old.do they just go like that and can one buy/install a new drive?also,would a broken drive behave that way(not allow a cd to be accepted?)

Not in a 12". If you feel intimidated then contact AppleCare if you have it or call your local AppleSpecialist and get estimates, etc (if you are in the US). In some of my older readings I have heard some specialist actually letting you purchase your own equipment and just charging for the install.
