can't log off

I have a dp1.8, 10.3.9. All the regular (std) accounts can log off but my acct (admin) will not log off. Click on the apple>log out....nothing. Used keyboard..still nothing. Can't shut down either.

Any ideas?

try the system prefereces, go to Accounts. click on your admin account icon, and click on your Login Option on the bottom. Is the Hide Sleep, Shut Down and Restart option clicked?

Actually when you log out, I understand that OSX receives a request to log-out. I t processes this if it sees it can do it. Sometimes, there are processes that will prevent a logout.

If there is anything running, or hung in the background, try quitting that first.

close all app's 1st that should work i had the same problem with a app.
