Can't Open Classic

I can't open Classic using OS X. Message comes up: You do not have sufficient permissions to fun Classic from System. I have seen this question asked a couple of times here, but there seems to be no conclusive answer that I can understand. Can someone suggest something simple to do, like reinstall something rather than reinitialising the whole HD? Surely it can't be that diffficult???
 
Did you try logging in as "root"? Chances are it's a priveldge issue than anything else. I am going under the hopes that when you installed X you have 9.2.2 or less in a seperate partition as opposed to the same one. Log in as root and try again, anything reply back.
 
Thanks for your reply. I haven't tried logging in as root, am not quite sure how to do this. And no 9.2.1 is not in a separate partition, I did not think this was mandatory. Thanks for your help.
