Can't print from Word v5 under Classic

IMac G5 with OS 10.3.7 with Canon i860 printer. I can print from any application under either OS X or Classic except Word v5. Has anyone else been able to do so? Or do you have any suggestions on how I might get it to work.

I forgot to mention, the printer just spits out blank pages when I try to print from Word. So part of the function is ok but the content isn't making the trip.

Office 2004 - $150 or less

Let's look at this:
Word 5 (I'm guessing ver 5.1a the last version)
Word 6
Word 98
Word 2001
Word V.x
Word 2004

Maybe some other intermediate major updates to Word, so your version is at least 5 generations back. Hard to guess how 10 year old software will work. I use Office 2004 every day, and IMHO, pretty fair software on an iMac G5, and you don't have to guess if it will work. As far as I know, most any old Word document can be opened with Word 2004. And you can save a doc with compatibility back to Word 4. Just a suggestion. :)

Thanks for the reply. I know that v5 is very old but it works great except for this printing glitch. I tried the trial version of Office that came with the iMac and didn't like the new Word. Other comments that I have read say that v5 was the last good version. I suppose that I will have to use something else eventually but hate to give it up. I have been working with it and then translating to AppleWorks to print but that's a nuisance.I keep hoping that someone will have a solution for me. It just acts as if the printer is getting directed to an empty file for content. It goes through the whole printing routine very normally except for not getting to the right file for content.
