Cant print with my mac...

I have it set up over my network. The printer is attatched to my PC and i have it shared. I then went and set up a printer on my PB and set it to print to that printer of the network. It doesnt print though (and i dont get an error messege or anything so im not sure whats wrong).

My printer is a HP psc 1200

im on a brand new PB. I tried to dl some drivers for the printer, but thedont work for some reason :-/

Sorry, but HP's drivers don't support network shared printing. You'll need the hpijs driver from here:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
Get the .dmg file, not source! Ghostscript is needed for Jaguar, but not for Panther.
Then, use this guide if things don't work easily:

Just wanted to note that I mean the drivers don't support "non-appletalk network sharing."
So, if you have Win2000, you could install Mac Printing Services, which gives you appletalk sharing.
Multiple ways to accomplish what you want.

Are you using Panther?

When you setup the printer did you select Windows Printing from the drop-down menu and select your shared printer from the window or did you configure it manually? Did you pick the Printer Model that matches your printer? If there wasn't one you should try what gsahli said, though I think the latest version of Panther has most of the latest CUPS drivers built-in. (Doesn't it?) I don't know anything specific about your printer model.

Less than half of the HP deskjet/psc models are in the Gimp-Print drivers included with Panther. The psc1200 isn't part of the Gimp-Print group. The hpijs driver is the one recommended by linuxprinting.org/macosx/.
