Can't see my FireWire 400 PHR-100AF

I have a FireWire 400 PHR-100AF external hard drive that I haven't used much - and I've just tried to use it. I can't see it on my Mac when it's plugged in. I have a Power Mac G4 (dual processor) and am running OSX 10.4.11. I have tried downloading a firmware updater but it doesn't seem to be working.

Please see your archives - TICKET ARCHIVE -> Mac Won't Read External Firewire Hard Drive... I think there's some resemblance to the problem.
 
Go to utilities/disk utility and see if the drive shows up there. Of course, perform the usual checks and make sure its plugged in to the computer and a power source and turned on.
