cant use workgroup on pc and mac help! Networkproblems!!

hi

following situation:

mac g4 osx 10.2.1 and pc laptop win 2000 prof.
and an nice dsl router. internet is on and works on both boxes fine.

first thing is, i can very easy connect from mac to pc via smb://"ip adress"
thats enough for and is not the problem.

i want to do this other way from pc to mac. samba is installed...made some shares... made a new Workgroup (same for both machines) and now..


1 cant connect to my mac ! are there any other solutions (please no ftp)

one way runs...the other way should too!

please help!

the way i did it was install samba, give both my pc and my mac static ips, make them part of the same work group, turn the shares on, and windows xp detected it right away...

probably not much of a help, but thats how it worked for me

on pc i can do so but on mac it will not work.
must select dhcp ( in network pref) to connect via roter to the inet.
if i select dhcp manually ip i cant connect to the web and i cant connect from pc to mac. mac to pc works the whole time

what router are you using? do you have all the settings in correctly? have you tried multiple static ip addresses?
