Hi, ::ha::
I'm long time mac user, but in graphic design and auto-edition. My brother ask me if the macs are good for video and sound. He just began to work in a company that want to buy some new harware. Of course I said yes, better than PCs, but I can't recommend any hardware and software to do that. Can you help me, and my brother? THANX A LOT.

Yep, you are correct. Even Walt Disney uses Macs for their movies. I am sure some one here can recommend hardware and software for you.

It all depends on what kind of audio sequencing or video editing you wanna do, but the more power the better.

I would recommend Logic Audio from EMagic:

Or even Cubase from Steinberg:

And for video editing, none other than Final Cut Pro:

All of these would run spectacularly on a G5, and I would highly recommend either of the two dual-processor machines available from Apple (either the dual 1.8GHz or the dual 2.0GHz).

I would also recommend getting as much internal hard drive space as possible, since audio and video take up TONS of room. Also, a large firewire hard drive would be recommended, preferrably a firewire 800 drive to go with the G5.

Dual-monitors are great for video editing, although Apple's are a bit expensive. Maybe get a 20" Apple with the G5 and a less expensive monitor from a different manufacturer as a secondary monitor.

Good luck, and let us know what you end up with!
