I used to have a nifty program called FindIt from Iomega.. it quickly allowed me to make a searchable catalog of all my backup CD's. That was on OS9, I'm using Jaguar now and wanted to update to a Carbon app.
I found this one app called AutoCat which seems to make disc images of just the file names. You can then open a folder of all these cataloged disc images and use OSX's finder to search the contents. This is cool, but i've cataloged 13 disc and already this folder is 78 megs.
I have hundreds of disc to catalog so I want to check with everyone here and ask, is there a better piece of software for OSX that's like FindIt or even better?
Why they don't build this into Sherlock is beyond me. :\
