Cd Burning With Itunes

I'm using OSX 10.3.9 and iTunes 4.9

My mac has started being very picky when it comes to burning audio CD's out of iTunes.

It seems to prepare the CD for burning okay, and then says 'unexpected error' and ejects the disk. Occasionally it will burn the disk, but more often than not, it won't.

It used to be absolutely fine, and its only in recent months that it seems to have been becoming awkward.

Any ideas how to rectify the situation?
 
Have you started using different types of media to burn on? Apple is picky about the media discs their hardware reads. Try using a Memorex or Verbatim disc. You also might want to try using a music formatted CD and see if that helps.
 
Have you done anything to modify your system as of late? Try and think back to when this initially started and what changes may have occurred then to possibly cause this. You also might want to try repairing permissions, running the apple hardware test disc, etc.
