CD-ROM, and .dmg

I have a game which requires a CD to run. I want to create a Disk Image of the CD so that I don't have to bring it with me. I have tried the Disk Copy, and I set the Image Format to CD/DVD Master. It doesn't work, the game doesn't detect this as a CD-ROM.
Is there something I am missing in the Prefs? Is there another Utility I need to download?

Thanks!

I know, it isn't working now. What I am wondering is if there is a way to 'trick' the program into thinking this is a CD.

Well, the problem is that I don't have Toast, and don't have the means to get it :(
What does Toast do that OS X's Disk Copy utility doesn't?

So does locking it and then mounting it with Toast work for you? It doesn't work with Disk Copy. I downloaded a OS 9 version of Shrink Wrap by Aladdin which claims that it creates Drive Images that work exactly like the original. I couldn't get it to work. Admittedly, I didn't spend that much time on it though...

It works for me.
I do in this way with my copy of Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault.
I created a disk image, locked and mounted with Toast, instead of inserting the original CD every time i want to play.

BTW the disk image is modified and doesn't contain any file, so it takes up only few MBs, but MOHAA is happy if it sees a MOHAA CD on my desktop. :)

Oh, well this game runs most of the files of the CD, and it seems to be able to tell when it is a real CD or not. (It is my sister's, actually, kind of surprising, it is Star Wars Droid Works, made back in 1999 or so).
What happens if you try a Disk Copy drive image?
