CD-RW drive

I have a Firewire Direct Yamaha 20x CD-RW drive, and iTunes does not support it. That wouldn't be a problem, but it appears that OS X 10.1 doesn't support it either. If I put a CD in the drive, nothing happens...do disk is mounted.

I recently found iTunes 2 on Hotline (iTunes is free), and it doesn't recognize my drive either. What the hell? This is a good drive, why would Apple not include any drivers. Is there any chance that Apple will continue to release updates to fix driver problems, or am I screwed? I don't want to ever restart into 9.1 again. Thanks.

Well, Apple is always adding new burners to it's list, so you may be OK eventually. In the mean time, you can always try Toast. You can download an OSX trial version from apple.
