I have been using the public beta since december. Recently all removable disks have stopped working completely for some reason - now whenever I insert a CD or Zip disk it no longer appears alongside other internal disks, not even on the desktop. As far as I know I haven't changed any settings relating to disks, but I do do a lot of work in the terminal though non of it is related to mounting disks. Has this happened to anybody else or has anybdy got a solution?

PS: In Apple system profiler the CD/DVD ROM Drive is not listed, but the Zip is listed on the USB chain.
My CD/DVD is a standard IDE drive - but CDs have worked in it before so this shouldn't be related to my drive not being made by Apple.
