Certain installers say no valid System Folder

I hope someone can help here:

I'm just setting up a new iBook for a colleague, and the last few apps I came to install would be Illustrator 10 & Suitcase 10. Both installers claim there must be a valid system folder on the drive, but there is a 10.2.2 and a 9.2.2 folder on there which both work fine. I used the same cd's on my iBook, which is identical.

have I really got to start again?

I has this problem once. I needed to go to System Preferences and make sure the 9.2.2 System Folder was selected.

This fixed my problem. Hope it helps.
