earthlink forced an office that is a client of mine to change network settings due to their internet not working. all tcp/ip settings were changed and ppoe was put in it's place, although the problem turned out to be their router. i restored their internet settings but now their lan is having multiple issues. drives won't auto mount over the network and certain folders won't share excel files - but they let me copy the files out of and into the folder (allowing me to overwrite) (although permissions are set to read and write for all) and now files accessed in the shared folder are crashing word.
i'm not sure what to do, both macs use os 10.3.9
