Changing default page in Apache

Is there a way to change the default page in apache from index.html to default.html. I have looked through the documentation and can't see anything that says how. Its probably basic and I am overlloking somewhere. I know you can add that it can use index.php, but I can't remember where to change that. Can some kind person help me...thanks...

In the http.conf file, there should be a line called DirectoryIndex, add "default.html" to that line.
