Changing directories with a space in the terminal

I can't seem to be able to change directories, namely in the /volumes directory. I want to access my external hard drive named LACIE DISK and it must not accept the space in between. Any help would be appriciated!

Two methods...

Put the name in quotes, ie "LACIE DISK"

or escape the space (make it a literal character)

LACIE\ DISK

Also, you can use tabbing. Start writing the directory path and hit tab, it should complete it nicely as long as there ain't two or more items starting with the same characters. I'd write /Vol and hit the tab key and it'd complete it to /Volumes/ and then I'd enter LA and hit tab again.
