Changing my PDF default reader.

Currently, when I click on a PDF file, the "Preview" program opens it by default. The free Adobe Reader is much better, but I have to first open Adobe Reader, then open the pdf file - can't I reset or configure my system to default to Adobe Reader instead of Preview?

Also, can I delete the Preview application - or is it really necessary?
 
Highlight a PDF. Get Info under the File Menu or Command-I
Change the default there and click Change All.

What is with the mania to delete core apps? Ever click the Preview button in the print dialog? Notice that it opens in Preview?

Preview is a very useful and basic tool of MacOS. Eventually you'll realize this.
