changing or hiding ip address

i was wondering whether there is a way to conceal or change my ip address so that other websites cannot see it, or see a different address?

Do a search on Google for anonymous proxy. Once you find one that is close to you, go into System Preferences>Network and select your connection(Ethernet, Airport etc). Select the Proxies tab and check the Web Proxy in the left list. Put the IP address and the port which will be port 80.

This will probably slow your browsing down because public proxies aren't that fast.
