Changing Ports?

I am running Mac OS X.2.8 and I am trying to change port 80 to listen on port 81. I have changed the Apache configuration file, however there is something else that needs to be changed and i can't seem to find any information on it?

I have been able to turn the firewall on in the sys prefs and create a new port 81 from there (in the sharing section), however it only works if i have 'Personal Web Sharing' on as well? It wierd, i have the config file changed to port 81, except that alone doesn't work. Any Ideas?

You probably need to start Apache manually, or stop and then restart it via the Sharing preferences.

"Personal Web Sharing" starts the Apache web server.

It would have to be something as simple as that. I had to restart apache manually. So I guess for every port i want to change its an isolated incident with each server? For example, if i wanted to change the ssh port? There is no single file that has all the ports listed that i could change?

No, SSH has its own config files, Apache has its own, FTP has its own, etc. It's a multi-file, manual editing process.
