The Benevolent
What do you think of my new design (still in the works)? Right here:

http://dris.webhop.org/test.html

I tried to combine something flat with something pseudo-surrealistic.

By the way, the character wasn't initially based off the little Zoloft guy on the commercial (Zoloft, the anti-depressant drug). I showed it to my brother, and he said it looked like it. :p

Anyways, any suggestions or anything else? I appreciate it! :)

see if you can integrate the nav portion a bit more. with it covering the graphic in the bg, it looks a little awkward.

nice clean design though - keep going.

just my $.02

It covers the graphic in the background? Odd... What browser/resolution/text size are you viewing at?

Odd, it still doesn't work. I'll try again later and stuff maybe I'll have to check my internet settings.

Hmm... Actually, it appears to be a problem from my end. I can't access the server through the IP address, so there's a problem. I'll check it out and let you know when it's working.

So far so good. Looks clean and minimal. Less is more!!! Sites need to remain minimal and uncluttered, and in that respect, you did a good job. Like quiksan, the nav bar overlaps the "Zoloft" character in the background on my screen. You didn't get a response from quiksan, but to answer your question I am viewing the site using 800x600 resolution. I normally use 1024 etc. Are you using style sheets? Sometimes at certain resolutions things can get squished. Are you doing this HTML by hand or using other programs? Otherwise, I like the images, color scheme, etc.

Indeed. All coded by hand (XHTML and CSS).

I looked at 800x600, and realize that the left side could be narrowed down considerably to make more room for the content. What browser are you viewing with? I tested in several browsers (Safari, Mozilla, Internet Explorer for Mac, and many others). It seems to render fine in everything but IE/Win (a pathetic browser for standards compliance).

I unfortunately at this moment have to view it using IE/Win. It is a disgrace and an abomination. Once I get back to my Mac later I will view it again.

Oh, by the way, when I scroll down to the bottom of the page, I noticed that the pixelized image at the bottom seems to overlap the zoloft image. You can see the upper-left corner of the larger image covering part of the zoloft character. Just something small that perfectionists like me notice.

I'll just show you how it looks on my computer (OS 9.2.2 with IE 5.1) and you can see for yourself what you think you need to fix.

Here is the top of the page:

And here's the bottom.

BTW, I also can't read any of it. :)
