Apparently, the vulnerability has been there for 15 years. Apple says no one has been affected by them yet, therefore I'm not very concerned.
 
While the vulnerability has been there for a long while, they just discovered it about a year ago. How serious it is remains to be the question. Why did Intel’s CEO sell off his stock when he was made aware of the problem? (he kept only the shares he is required to hold as per his employment contract).
