Chooser

I have several hard drives being mounted through the chooser, however, some of those drives are having problems. When OS9 re-starts it tries to mount these drives and causes the mac to hang for long periods of time. How can I tell these drives to no longer mount at start-up? Is there a pref to delete? Need help badly. BTW I can't get to chooser to stop auto-mounts because of the hang. I can only get into the system by disabling extensions.

Thanks,

You can go into the Chooser and un-X the volume selections from there, or you can go into System Folder and look for a folder called Servers. Go in there and delete all the aliases inside Reboot to test it.

You might also want to look in System Folder --> Preferences and delete any preferences having to do with AppleTalk or AppleShare.

You should be able to do this with Extensions Disabled also.

... And never check those check boxes when selecting which volumes to mount. Those boxes are EVIL!

Thanks for all the replies!

Once I deleted the alias from the folder "Servers" inside the system folder, that took care of the problem.
