After installing Panther on my Clamshell and running that way for one day
It suddenly started flashing a system folder with a question mark. I ran the installer to reinstall and when it came to the part to select a volume the screen was blank, I have Apple Care on both of our Laptops so I placed a call to Apple the tech had me try to run the disk utility from the install but that just sat there so he had me power off and then restart holding Apple and S which will force the reboot into the terminal. He had me enter /sbin/fsck -y and this will check the disk system, long story short I had no hard drive so I am sending it back to have it replaced. He said this was just a coincidence with the installation of Panther. I will say it again the $270:00 for Apple care on a Laptop is the best money I have ever spent.

So are you saying that Panther ate your hard disk?

Or was that ol' clam already on a half shell? ;)

I had to replace my HD some time ago. It seems like the drives that were put in the computer can get their male connectors bent easily.

That's what happened to me anyway. It screwed up the whole thing.

I just think it's funny that a HD that has been working fine through 9.2 10.1 thru 10.2.8 would suddenly have it's HD quit functioning.
you be the judge
