Classic app can't read cd in 10.4.1 under Classic

I have a Classic app that needs to read a cd to work, but it says the cd driver is not installed. How can I go about rectifying this? I'm running OS 10.4.1 and Classic mode works fine otherwise for other apps.

You may be out of luck. Classic often does not work with
apps that need to access devices. For example, my Toast-4
doesn't do squat in Classic. I have to boot into OS9 (which my
old G4 867DP can do).

Have you checked the Extensions Manager in Classic to ensure that extensions related to the CD-ROM are activated?
