I have several volumes on my up to date X system on TiBook:
Documents - no os
VRAM - no os
MacOS X - OS X & X Apps
Windows - virtual pc app and data
Scratch - IE and other cache files
MacOS9 - OS 9 & 9 apps
Empty - OS 9
For some reason, despite being able to boot up with the 'MacOS9' partition, I can not see it or select it in the classic control panel or use it under X. Infact the control panel only shows documents, vram, windows and empty, and of those only empty is allowed (and will classic boot under X).
I dont understand how the startup panel can allow me to select/boot the MacOS9 partition (under 9) but classic panel does not see it or allow me to use it under X.
Until recently I was running separate 9 OS & 9 Application volumes but decided to consolidate them on one 'MacOS9'. The 'empty' volume was the old classic boot disk. Indeed it was empty early today when I reformatted it. When I found that I could not start classic with 'MacOS9' I copied the System Folder from 'MacOS9' to 'Empty' and it booted classic fine under X from 'Empty'.
Thus it is not a software version issue. I just dont get it.
I have rebuilt desktop booted under 9. I have blessed under 9. I have stood on my head. I have rebuilt desktop for X.
It makes NOOOOO sense.
Ideas appreciated!
