Classic Icon in Dock

When I beta tested OS X or 10.x and maybe upto 10.1 it had an option for Classic to be an icon in the dock.

The way it worked was, when OS9 was running it had an application icon in the dock. You could set the option in the System Prefs Classic section.

Was this a hack I installed or was I just dreaming of an enhancement?

I stopped using OS X at 10.1 Now I'm using it at work with 10.1.5 and it doesn't have it.

I figured out what I did to set it up.

While Classic is launching you click and hold and it gives you the option to keep in dock.

This will help when launching, or to verify if Classic is running.
Then I have to keep a classic program in the dock or startup so the rainbow apple shines through.

I'm in technical support so I have to drop down to classic every once in awhile.

If you have any other ideas on to help out, I'm still listening.
