I'm running a 867 MHz PB G4 with &68 RAM. I originally bought it with 10.2.x and 9.2.2 installed. Last week I updated to 10.4.4 so that I could run Skype, Java 5, and few other required programs for school that I had previously been using a Windows machine for.
Yesterday I opened up Classic for the first time since the upgrade and I got a message that I needed to update Classic and Quicktime. Updated Quicktime by downloading the 6.0.3 installer. Restarted Classic. Boots just fine. However, all animation (intensive or otherwise) are jerky and prone to skipping and slowdowns. I tried this with some simple games such The Fool's Errand. It had problems. I tried this with Bryce, also sluggish.
Now, some of these programs I don't use as often since I've changed careers and upgrades would be a waste of money. I'm hoping someone may have some ideas as to what the 10.4.x version of Classic is doing that is causing these problems. I know the 10.2.x version had NO problems.
