colorsync & printing

i tried to print some pix today (first time in panther) and i could not for the life of me get them to print the correct color or contrast. i wasted so much ink and photo paper. i made a custom filter in colorsync, adjusting a little over for compensation, and it still prints as if i havent changed a thing. what settings will give me pretty much the same as the original? im totally frustrated here and cannot figure this out. :(

Not knowing your system, I can only give a suggestion.

Make sure, if you are gonig to use Colorsync, that you turn off all printer color management. On my Epson, not doing so with let the printer AND Colorsync try to deal with the colors, and it always ends up a bad thing.

Just a thought and I hope it helps you.
