Command line equivalent of apply to enclosed items?

What do you need to do with command line?
If it's any command line command to apply to the enclosed items, just use command line, or is that too easy? /Applications/Utilities and pick Terminal.
If the items you want applied some command to are in a folder, somecommand somesyntax and drag the folder to the Terminal window to autocomplete the path.
