Command to list hard drives?

Hi!

Im trying to install OS X on my newly formatted computer.
The only item in the list as to where to install is
hd(31,0) Mac OS Z Install Disc
That's not my hard drive.
What command do I use to show a list of drives so I can find the right one?

I tried with disk0s2, when run in verbose mode it doesn't send any errors until this

Extension "com.apple.iokit.IOUSBMassStorageClass" has no kernel dependency.
