I have been a pc technician for a long time and have always used Norton Ghost to copy from one hd to another. My question is this. When I want to upgrade the hd from 20 gb to whatever on my G4 Cube, will this program be able to copy the mac filesystem or do I need to go about this another way?

If you're looking for the specifics of making an exact copy it's been discussed quite a bit lately. If you do a search I'm sure you'll find it.

The application you're looking for is called Carbon Copy Cloner, it will make an exact copy from one HD to another.
Another app that I've heard talked about but I have not used is called PsyncX.
Both are available at versiontracker.com

You want to use Retrospect. It makes a ghost-like image that you can save to cd, dvd, tape drive, zip, jaz or just a file on the same hard drive or another hard drive. I think it will even back up to FTP

retrospect is a nice program (I have it myself) although it's not a free solution if that is what you're looking for.

If you're looking for a commercial program that will do it retrospect will do a nice job.

If all you're looking for is a down and dirty copy util that is free... or next to it (shareware) the previous two is what you'll want.
