I'm having trouble with Final Cut Pro 4 and compressor. Whenever I try to to export using compressor my computer freezes/crashes.
My problem seems to be identical to the problem that "Shane" described to Tom on May 21, 2005. My system components are about the same as Shane's as well:
G5 Dual 1.8
1.5 G Ram
OS 10.3.9
160 HD
FCPHD
DVDSP3
33 G available on the HD
No external devices or capture card
Edit in DV NTSC
Trying to encode to MPEG2 for DVD Authoring
Have attempted outputting the FCP project as a self-contained movie via FCP and then putting it in Compressor manually with the same results
I never saw the outcome to Shane's problems--perhaps this would resolve ours as well.
