computer doesn't appear on local network..

Hi,

we've got a g3 and g4 networked, and both machines can access the internet fine, BUT, when either machine tries to find the other, using "connect to server," "browse," the other machine doesn't appear.

This has only occured since I did an erase/install of 10.4 following disk problems on the g5.

I've tried switching off firewalls, but to no avil.

Any help would be very appreciated.

I don't have the firewalls on and it still happens to me. I just use the GO menu and type in the ip address and it sees it just fine after that. Don't know why the stupid Browse doesn't work though.
 
Im having a similar problem--Mac Mini to G4 Cube on a router.

The Cube finds the Mini and other computers/drives just fine, but Mini cant seem to find the Cube! It shows up in Appletalk and so I know it is connected, but I cant seem to get it to show up on my local network! When I first introduced the Cube to the network, it was fine, the Mini recognized the Cube and vice-versa...

Does anyone know the steps to manually connect and get the Mini to recognize the Cube? Does this problem sound familiar? Both machines are running 10.4.3 with no firewalls up through a Broadband router.
