Computer Keeps Locking Up When On the Internet

Hello my fabulous friends at MacOSX.com..
it's me back again from not having the internet due to Hurricane Katrina. Anyway, we have developed a weird problem here.

My Powerbook G3 has 512 MB RAM and suddenly on a regular basis when I'm surfing the net (using IE5), it likes to lock up completely forcing me to restart the computer...

Any idea what could be causing this? I upped the memory that IE uses and the memory that ATM uses thinking that it might be a font issue..but still it keeps locking up at the most inopportune times.

Do you have any other programs running at the same time?
Have you emptied the cache of IE? (in IE's preferences)
